Information You Submit to Us
We collect information submitted to us from our members and others who have completed a transaction with the organization (i.e. membership, bookorder, conference registration, etc.) Some of the information that you provide to us may be personally identifiable information, or information that can be uniquely identified with you, such as your name, school/company name, address, e-mail address, phone number or member number.
Information We Collect Automatically
We may automatically record your telephone number when you call us and your e-mail address when you correspond with us by e-mail. This information may be collected in our database for future reference.
Information on users of the www.nmsa.org/annual Web site is collected for tracking purposes only. For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server collects general information that does not identify a specific visitor or a visitor's e-mail address. Only the host name or IP address (a unique number that is assigned to your computer every time you connect to the Internet) from which the site was accessed are identified. We use this information to calculate the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to future visitors.
Cookies Used in NMSA Web site

- If you register for a program, purchase book items, or sign up for housing for a conference, these services are sometimes handled by anoutside processing center. This information is held in a confidential relationship between NMSA and the processing center.
- To our agents and service partners that assist us in fulfilling our mission to our members and users of our Web site. Examples include entities that fulfill orders, send postal mail or e-mails, perform research or analyze data, provide marketing assistance, organize educational events, provide educational materials/services, or provide customer service. In such cases, we provide access to personally identifiable information necessary to perform their functions but restrict them from using it for any other purpose and require them to maintain its confidentiality.
- When required by law or order of a court or governmental agency, or compelled by subpoena.
We will from time to time use your contact information to provide you with information about the benefits of membership, including information about specials, discounted products, and services available to members and those with recent contact with NMSA, by e-mail and postal mail. NMSA sends newsletters and other information and offers to its members via e-mail. At any time, you may reply to the e-mail and ask to unsubscribe. If you continue to receive e-mails from NMSA after you have unsubscribed, please contact us.

We employ information technology designed to protect the security of personally identifiable information you submit to us. Our servers are protected against unauthorized access by physical security means.
Security of Credit Card Information
NMSA is fully committed to data security. We have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information you provide to us online. When you place an order on the NMSA Web site, our secure server software encrypts all personal information, including credit card number/expiration date, name and address. NMSA uses this information to process and send your order only. We do not use this data for any other purpose.
Children's Online Information Policy
We do not knowingly collect, maintain or use personal information about children under the age of 13. If a person under the age of 13 sends personal information to NMSA either by the Web site or other communication means, we will only use that information to notify the child's parents or to seek parental consent.
