The Institute for Middle Level Leadership will focus on key issues facing middle level leaders, including:
- Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Designing relevant advisory and advocacy programs
- Transitioning in and out of middle level
- Understanding the impact of poverty, ethnicity, and gender on student achievement
- Addressing the needs of English language learners
- Implementing and improving teaming
- Integrating formative classroom assessment techniques
- Creating positive culture and climate in schools
- Fostering a culture of literacy
- Meeting 21st century challenges for instruction
- Actively engaging parents, family, and the community in the life of the school
