The Children's Museum of Indianapolis
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis contains five floors of educational opportunities. The Power of Children: Making a Difference exhibit opened in November 2007. The exhibit focuses on the lives of Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges, and Ryan White and the power that children and young adults have to make a difference. Participants will experience the exhibit, watch a theatrical performance, make a promise to take action and make a difference, and explore the units of study.

Creating First Person Characters for the Classroom

Conner Prairie
Energize your classroom with portrayals of characters from the past. Explore the process of developing and presenting characters. You can use this process to create your own character portrayal or to guide students in the creation of characters. Topics include identifying character purpose, locating and using primary sources, and constructing evaluation rubrics. The methods and strategies discussed in this session can be used to integrate multiple subject areas including social studies, science, and language arts.
