| Speaking of Special Sessions | | 9/12/2008 8:46 AM | | Posted by Al Summers | Return | Due to the technology focus of the conference, NMSA is playing host to some very special people who will be presenting at the conference in Denver. One of them is Karen Cator of Apple, Inc.
Karen directs Apple's leadership and advocacy efforts in education. In this role, she is responsible for strategic business development, managing Apple’s involvement in education policy efforts, Apple Professional Development, the Apple Distinguished Educator Program and the publishing of media rich teaching and learning practices on the Apple Learning Interchange. She is also the immediate past chair of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills.
Karen will be presenting at 3:45 PM on Friday October 31 in room 111 of the convention center. Her presentation is titled "Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow- Today" Her presentation will focus on creating the best possible learning environment to engage and inspire this generation of students. The session will also explore the framework of 21st Century Skills and some design principles for innovating the education environment.
