Partner Organizations

National Middle School Association is a member of several organizations whose missions and purposes are consistent with NMSA.

Alliance for Curriculum Reform
The Alliance is a collaborative of organizations, and serves as a national forum to stimulate dialogue and action advancing coherent, balanced, and comprehensive preK-12 curricula, assessment, instruction, and related research.

America's Promise Alliance
Founded by General Colin Powell, America's Promise Alliance is comprised of corporations, nonprofit organizations, foundations, policymakers, advocacy groups, and faith groups. They are committed to seeing that children experience the fundamental resources they need to succeed—the Five Promises—at home, in school, and in the community. They believe that children's success is grounded in having caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, an effective education, and opportunities to help others.

Learning First Alliance
The Learning First Alliance is a permanent partnership of 15 leading education associations with more than 10 million members dedicated to improving student learning in America's public schools. Its communications Web site, www.publicschoolinsights.org, encourages public school stakeholders to learn from each other by sharing success stories and encouraging innovation and effective practice.

National Adolescent Literacy Coalition
A coalition of national organizations addressing the literacy needs of young adolescents.

National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
NCATE is the profession’s mechanism to help establish high quality teacher preparation. Through the process of professional accreditation of schools, colleges and departments of education, NCATE works to make a difference in the quality of teaching and teacher preparation today, tomorrow, and for the next century.

National Council for Parent Involvement in Education
NCPIE is a coalition of major education, community, public service, and advocacy organizations working to create meaningful family-school partnerships in every school in America.

National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform
The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform is an alliance of over 60 educators, researchers, national associations, and officers of professional organizations and foundations committed to promoting the academic performance and healthy development of young adolescents.Whole Child Education is a partnership of 22 national education, health, arts, and civic organizations committed to a whole child approach to education wherein educators, schools, parents, policymakers, and communities work together to ensure students are healthy, safe, engaged in learning, supported by caring adults, and challenged by a well-balanced curriculum.

Whole Child Education
